The Dawn of a New Time is a movement that was born from the encounter with the indigenous peoples that inhabit the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. It arises from their desire to open their hearts and knowledge to the world, with the intention to create awareness about the importance of harmonizing our thoughts, our words, our actions, our relationships … our life and recover the natural order of things.
It also arises from the need and desire to remember our origin, to honor our ancestors, to be able to weave ourselves in networks that help us awaken our conscience, support the sacred task of our elders in maintaining the balance of the universe and help us to sustain the continuity of life on this earth.
Within the framework of this movement several meetings have taking place. The first one was in August 2011, in Ikarwa, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Arhuaco ancestral territory, this meeting was attended by about 350 indigenous people from the Arhuaco and Wiwa ethnic groups, spiritual leaders, elderly women and indigenous elders of Japan, Mexico, United States , New Zealand, Australia and Ecuador and more than 150 people from around 20 different nationalities.
In June 2012 a delegation of Kogi and Arhuaco Mamos traveled to Sedona, United States to participate in a gathering with more than 150 people from different nationalities and to visit the reservation of the Hopi people, where they had the chance to share their culture and make payments at various sacred sites , including the Grand Canyon of the Colorado river.
In August 2012 Kogi´s Mamos and Sagas, together with Mayan Indians of Mexico and Guatemala and about 50 people from different nationalities met in a gathering of Guardians of the Seed of Life, in Palomino, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, ancestral Kogi territory.
